During Term 1 we launched the inaugural 13U Black v Gold Tuesday night competition. This new series was specifically designed to develop and grow our competitive and upcoming 13U players, and to ensure the Pirates club build a strong base of future talent. 

SKILL DEVELOPMENT

Each week, the Black and Gold teams worked on skills and technique across all aspects of the game - throwing, pitching, batting and fielding. Then they’d put those skills into action, going head to head in a 5-innings game.  

POST-SEASON SERIES

The post-season championship series was tense and exciting with the teams evenly matched. It was tied 1-1 going into the Final night which saw 7-innings of pulsating baseball against our intimidating ‘Mars Rover’ pitching machine. The Gold team made a fast start and Black made a hard-fought come-back, before Gold eventually took the victory 8 - 5. 

Overall, Baseball was the winner and player growth was remarkable. Special thanks to our coaches and umpires who made the competition such a success.
